The days feel long, but the weeks are flying by! Week 3 at training camp was a beautiful mix of restful moments and new adventures.

Highlights!
We kicked off the week with two sabbaths what a gift! Some of us went thrifting and had so much fun, finding needed clothes, and fixing some things up in the parking lot. It was a chill and recharging sabbath.
This week, I joined the dish pit crew and honestly, it’s a blast! It’s where all the big dishes get cleaned. We play music, scrub away, and somehow turn the chore into a party. There’s something special about finding joy in the little things.
A definite highlight was our Walmart run. We got everything we needed (plus snacks, of course!). That night, we had a women’s gathering called Beauty for Ashes. It was a time for us to gather intentionally as women to eat, make friendship bracelets, take pictures, worship, and share testimonies. My friend Macie led us all in worship so well! It was such a sweet, powerful night.

Revival Night
Revival night this week was incredibly sweet. Worship was deeply Spirit-led, creating space to simply sit with the Lord and listen. During that time, God gave me a picture of Him pulling out my heart; one that held brokenness, judgment, and bitterness and gently replacing it with a tender, open heart.

Hiking Mount Yonah
The next day was a BIG one. We left at 4 p.m. to hike Mount Yonah, a 3-hour, beautiful, but intense incline hike. Despite what some may say, I loved it! The view at the top was stunning. We set up our tents on a field at the top of the mountain, watched the sunset from a cliff, played card games, made hot dogs by the fire, and stargazed. Macie, Jaydin, and I shared a tent and didn’t put our rainfly on so we could look at the stars. We woke up at 5:30 a.m., packed up, and hiked down in the dark by 6:00. We made it down in 90 minutes just in time for Chick-fil-A breakfast (my first ever… and it was pretty good!). The whole experience was a 10/10.

End of the week Sabbath
For Sabbath, I got to join my friend Kynsie and her mom for lunch which was such a sweet time of connection. After that, we grabbed coffee (a Sabbath must) and headed to the laundromat to wash basically everything I own. I absolutely love the laundromat and will go any chance I get!
That night, we Ubered to Target because I forgot some necessities at Walmart. One of the unexpected joys of Gainesville has been Ubering. Every single driver has been someone we’ve gotten to minister to in some way. Whether it’s through prayer, encouragement, or just joyful conversation, we’ve been able to share the love of Jesus every time.

Packing Up for North Carolina
To bring the week to a close, we packed up to head to North Carolina! But first, a big campus cleanup. My team tackled the kitchen, dishes, clearing out old food, and then we loaded the vans and hit the road for our 3-hour drive.

What a week. From tender moments with the Lord to mountaintop hikes, dish pit parties, and thrift store finds it’s clear that God is moving in both the big and small!

    🩷I love you!

  2. Oh Abby!! I agree with Amy, I love reading this story and imagining everything you’re going thru! So proud of you!

  3. Love hearing your updates (yes, I hear your updates in your voice) You have a gift of imagery in your writing. “God gave me a picture of Him pulling out my heart; one that held brokenness, judgment, and bitterness and gently replacing it with a tender, open heart” This made me tear up. Power-filled!!

My missions journey takes me to Eswatini, Malaysia, Nicaragua and Guatemala. I am expectant for all God will do through me and reveal to me as I serve others. Since I was a little girl, I have had the heart to see people say yes to Jesus. I even told my mom when I was 7 years old, Mom, you know those people who look in balls and tell people their future? Well I am going to take over their spots and start praying for people. I am most excited to live out the Great Commission that says, Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. It will be thrilling to see lives changed when they come to know the love of Jesus!
